Ineke is docent Nederlands op het Metis Montessori Lyceum, waar zij montessoritrainer is voor het OP. Zij houdt zich daar onder meer bezig met didactisch coachen. Dit is een coachtechniek die leraren de taal en tools geeft om wereldburgerschap en het montessorigedachtegoed vorm te geven in de klas. Door hoge verwachtingen te hebben van leerlingen en dit concreet vorm te geven in de dagelijkse omgang met leerlingen, ervaren leerlingen meer eigenaarschap en leren zij beter. Op deze manier bereiden zij zich voor op hun rol als volwassene in de maatschappij.

Een mooi citaat van Maria Montessori in deze context is het volgende: “If puberty is on the physical side a transition from an infantile to an adult state, there is also, on the psychological side, a transition from the child who has to live in a family, to the man who has to live in society. These two needs of the adolescent: for protection during the time of the difficult physical transition, and for an understanding of the society which he is about to enter to play his part as a man.” (Maria Montessori, From Childhood to Adolescence, The Montessori Series Volume 12)
